About the Author of Caregiver's Almanac
I didn't just wake up one day and say to myself "I think I'll be a caregiver when I grow up." No. It has been an unforeseen journey . . . a series of new and very unique opportunities. At different times in my life--usually without foresight--I've found myself a caregiver of individuals or groups of individuals with very distinct needs. My journey has led me into seasons of caring for homebound seniors, intellectually challenged youth, refugees who've fled unbearable conditions, psychologically troubled individuals, and those who are homeless . . .not to mention, the seasons of caring for my own children and (much later) my mother who suffered with Alzheimer's disease.

I hope that sharing my past experiences and present reflections can bring humor and insight into the lives of others who are on their own caregiving journeys.
